Ward 6 is a rapidly growing ward that is lacking in key resources. I have been working hard during my current term on the following issues:
1. Fair, Priority-Based Budgeting– TAX REFORM!
- Implement program effectiveness measures so dollars go where they work, not on continuing pet or legacy projects.
- Cap executive-level city salaries (~$115k), raise starting wages to at least $25/hr (living wages cut spending in other areas we are taxed).
- Put an end to unchecked spending that doesn’t serve Missoula families.
2. Infrastructure Equity
- Prioritize wards with fewer sidewalks, lighting, and traffic calming, such as Ward 6!
- Invest in infrastructure fairly across the city, not just in already well-served areas.
3. Affordable Housing & Stability
- Direct Affordable Housing Trust Fund to 0–30% AMI families.
- Ensure city property is used for permanently affordable housing.
- Expand permanent supportive housing with partners like Missoula Housing Authority.
- Preserve naturally affordable homes (small multifamily, manufactured housing).
4. Transparent, Accountable Government
- Stop political games — focus on doing our jobs.
- Open, honest, accessible leadership: move public comment earlier, share info widely, talk directly with residents.
